Sidney Smolinsky is a native of Philadelphia and the most experienced of the Sacks & Weston attorneys. He graduated from Temple with a Bachelor of Science (1954) and a Bachelors of Law (1956). As a senior at Temple Law, he was a member of the Moot Court team. In 1958, after a tour with the United States Army, Mr. Smolinsky began his legal career.

Sidney is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1960) and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (1966). Additionally, he is licensed to practice in front of the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

His primary practice areas include; maritime, personal injury, products liability and medical malpractice. He has represented numerous injured seamen and longshoremen, as well as victims of cruise ship injuries.

In 1972, he was the first attorney in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania to receive a personal injury verdict of more than $100,000.00 and in 1999 received a $1.5 million dollar recovery on behalf of an injured seaman for aggravation of a preexisting condition.

Sidney has received an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating an attorney can receive.
